New managed clients

Switching? The install is on us.

Changing IT providers usually means paying somebody to set everything up again. When you move to K² Tech Solutions, you don’t. We waive the install fee on every new device with no limit, and cover up to $500 in project hours.

Talk it through

Tell us roughly what you’re running and we’ll work out what this is worth on your setup.

Or call (517) 395-2593

We’ll only use this to reply to you. Nothing here goes on a mailing list. Please don’t send passwords or account details through this form.

  • New device install fees waived, with no limit on how many
  • Up to $500 in project hours waived
  • Hardware sold to you at our cost, as it always is

What is covered

The point of this is getting your equipment current and secure while we are already in your environment, rather than carrying aging gear into a contract we are then obliged to support.

Every install fee, waived

There is normally a per-device charge to deploy new equipment. On this offer there is none, on any device, with no cap on how many. Workstations, servers, switches, firewalls, access points.

Up to $500 in project hours

Configuration time is covered up to $500. Anything past that is quoted on a Project Proposal and you approve the number before we start, so there is no surprise at the end of it.

Install and configuration are different things

This is the one part worth reading twice, because it decides what is free and what is billed. We would rather you know now than find out on an invoice.

Install, which is free
Putting the device in and bringing it up. Mounting, cabling, powering on. On a workstation that is the whole standard setup: imaging it, joining it to your network, installing security and monitoring, and moving the user’s files across.
Configuration, which is project work
Designing something new or migrating data into it. Building a server, setting up accounts and shares, writing firewall rules, laying out VLANs, moving a mailbox system. Project work, with up to $500 of it covered.

So a new server is free to install, and building it is a project we quote you for, with up to $500 of it already paid.

What it does not cover

  • The equipment, software and licensing, all sold to you at our cost
  • Shipping and sales tax
  • Labor on equipment bought somewhere else
  • Work done by a third party for you, such as cabling or electrical
  • Services delivered through our partners, OIT VoIP and SensCy
  • Your monthly Agreement Fee, which does not change

Your specific figures and your expiry date are written onto your Service Schedule when you sign, so what you are getting is recorded rather than remembered.

Questions worth asking

Who is this for?
New managed service clients on any of the three plans, one offer per business. It is aimed at the switch itself, when your equipment is being brought onto our systems and it is the cheapest moment to put things right.
What is the difference between install and configuration?
Install is putting a device in and bringing it up: mounting, cabling, powering it on, imaging a workstation, joining it to your network, installing security and monitoring, and moving a user's files across. That is free. Configuration is designing something new or migrating data into it, like building a server, writing firewall rules, laying out VLANs, or moving a mailbox system. That is project work, and up to $500 of it is covered.
Does the equipment cost anything?
You pay for the equipment, at what it costs us. We do not add a margin to hardware and we never have, so this offer covers the labor rather than the gear. Software, licensing, shipping and sales tax are yours too.
Can we use hardware we already bought?
The offer covers labor on equipment we quoted you, because that is what we have specified and can properly support. Installing something bought elsewhere is billable in the normal way, and we will tell you the number before we touch it.
How long do we have?
Ninety days from your service start date, which is the Effective Date on your Service Schedule rather than the day you sign. Inside that window the work needs to be scheduled and the equipment ordered. It does not need to be finished, because supply lead times are outside everybody's control and we are not holding a delivery delay against you.
What if we need work done outside business hours?
You can have it. After-hours work draws on the same $500 rather than being excluded, so a Saturday cutover is available and it uses the allowance faster.
Does this change our monthly fee?
No. Your monthly Agreement Fee is unchanged and stays at the rate on your Service Schedule. This is a labor waiver during onboarding, so it happens once and then stops.
What happens if we leave?
Nothing extra is owed because of this offer. The early termination fee in your Managed Service Agreement is the only thing that applies and it is unchanged.

Work out what this is worth on your setup

Tell us roughly how many computers and servers you run and how old they are. We will come back with what the offer covers in your case, and what it would cost to do properly.
