About an hour on site, at no cost. You get a written summary of what you're running, what's out of date, and what we would deal with first.
What we look at
- Every machine you're running, how old it is, and how much life it has left
- Which operating systems are still getting security updates and which stopped
- Whether your backups are running, and whether a restore has ever been tested
- What protection is on each machine, and what's sitting there unprotected
- The firewall, the router, the Wi-Fi, and how your internet is set up
- Your Microsoft 365 settings, including the ones that matter for email security
- User accounts still active for people who left the business
- Where your passwords, licences and domain name actually live
What you get back
A written summary in plain English, covering what you’re running, what’s out of date, where the risk sits, and what we would deal with first if it were ours. Where something needs replacing, you get a sense of when rather than a demand for now.

Worth booking if any of this sounds familiar
Your IT provider sold, closed, or stopped answering. That’s the situation most of our clients came from. Nobody can say for certain whether your backups would restore. The person who set all this up doesn’t work here any more. Or things broadly work, and you’d simply like someone to check.
Questions we get asked
- Is it genuinely free?
- Yes, and the written findings are yours to keep whether or not you hire us. Some people have used them to hold their existing provider to account instead, which is a fine outcome.
- How long does it take?
- About an hour on site for most offices, longer if you're running several servers. You get the written summary back within a few days.
- What do we need to have ready?
- Nothing prepared. It helps if someone can point us at the server cupboard and tell us which software the business can't operate without, but we can work it out from the machines if not.
- Will you try to sell us something at the end?
- You'll get the findings and a number, and then it's yours to think about. If what you have is working and you don't need us, we'd rather say so than talk you into a plan you'll resent in six months.
